- note: due to circumstanstances beyond our control, our source of dirt fell thru and unfortunately we will not have a pump track on site as planned and as indicated in the flyer above.
[edit] SwapFest (new!)
Bring your bikes, parts, accessories and clothes to sell or to swap and maybe even take home a few tresures and bargains from fellow JORBA friends. We provide the space and the customers; you provide your own tables/canopies, inflatables.....whatever you need to set up your own space.
Participation in SwapFest requires a $5.00 space fee which gets you, your car and your stuff into the VIP SwapFest area which will allow you to set up your area right at your car, within the inner festival area. You can set up a table, EZ-up or just sell your stuff off the tailgate, your choice. All we ask is that you follow a few simple SwapFest rules:
- $5.00 space fee for participation in SwapFest.
- SwapFest is only intended for the sale/trading of cycling/bike related items.
- Be mindful of the amount of space you are using, we want to make sure that we have enough space to accomodate everyone interested in SwapFest.
- Pleaes note that SwapFest VIP space is limited so come early if you want to assure yourself a primo spot within the festival area.
- As you know, JORBA Fest is a fund raising event and your $5.00 site fee aids JORBA in carrying out its efforts throughout the state. Although it is not mandatory we ask that you consider making an additional donation to JORBA based on your proceeds generated at SwapFest. If you would like to make an additional donation, please see one of the representatives at the registration table and ask them to designate your donation as a result of SwapFest.
- One final thing, which is absolutley mandatory and that is to HAVE FUN!!!
For more information about SwapFest please contact SwapFest Czar Bob Birmingham at montclairbobbyb@gmail.com

[edit] What to bring - what to do?
The Concert Field is huge! We invite you to bring folding chairs, tables and popup (ez-up) tents and the whole family. There's plenty of room to spread out, so make the whole day of it, bike, relax, eat, repeat.
There is no running water at the site so we recommend that you bring water for your rides. That said, there will be water for sale, as well as food from various vendors.
Bicycle helmets must be worn if you plan to ride your bike. Our vendors will have bike helmets on sale if you want to purchase one.
[edit] Festival Rules and Regulations
The use of the Waterloo Concert Field has been granted to The Jersey Off-Road Bicycle Association under the guidelines of a Sepcial Use Permit with the State of New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry State Park Service. Therefore public use of New Jersey's State Parks and Forests is subject to the provisions of N.J.S.A. Title 13 and N.J.A.C. 7:2-1 et. seq. All festival participants are required to abide by these Rules and Regulations.

[edit] Notes About Rides
When choosing your ride please make an an honest selection according to your ability. Please keep in mind that the advanced rides are for strong riders only. These rides will have a spirited pace with plenty of climbing, lots of rocks and limited rest breaks. These rides are scheduled to last 4 hours but may vary based on the dynamics of the group. Please do not plan to ride these rides if you do not believe your fitness or skill level is up to the task, as you could make the ride less enjoyable for all others on the ride. Our ride leaders understand the terrain and physical demands required for this type of ride, so please heed any advice they might give and don't be afraid to ask if the ride is right for you.
All rides are no-drop rides.
In order to keep organized rides manageble the number of riders per each organized ride will limited. Sign-up sheets for all organized rides will be located at the ride tent on the day of the festival.

[edit] Who is JORBA?
JORBA is a group of New Jersey mountain bike riders dedicated to cycling education, advocacy and conserving New Jersey’s diverse natural resources. JORBA works with land managers, park officials and other trail user groups to gain and maintain access trails all over New Jersey. We are over 500 members strong with chapters throughout the state. Please visit http://www.jorba.org/ for more info and to become a member of New Jersey’s unified voice of MTB and sustainable trails.
JORBA is associated with the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA). We closely follow IMBA guidelines for trail building and maintenance. IMBA, in turn, supports JORBA with frequent visits from their Trail Care Crew. Last year, the JORBA Mountain Bike Festival had the honor of hosting IMBA's Trail Care Crew at the festival.
